Our Founder – Peter Angelos

The name Peter Angelos has long been synonymous with service – and success. As an attorney for more than 60 years, he devoted his professional life to representing those who have suffered from exposure to harmful asbestos fibers, defective products, medical malpractice, environmental litigation and personal injury. Peter Angelos was always a passionate advocate and a tireless champion for Baltimore, his hometown.

The firm is currently owned by Jay Miller, William Minkin and James Zavakos. The only change in ownership is the commitment of all three to maintaining the same level of competency and experience that has set the firm apart for over 50 years.

William Minkin and James Zavakos started their careers with Peter Angelos Law and have both practiced with the firm for over 25 years. They bring that historical knowledge and training to the ownership group. Jay Miller has been with the firm for over 13 years, having owned and managed a very successful law firm in Maryland prior to joining Peter Angelos Law. Their combined trial experience and management skills were a natural fit to continue the firm’s tradition of maximizing every client’s recovery.

The firm has a long history of success, including a $4.5 billion dollar win in a lawsuit against the tobacco industry, a $15.3 million award in a case involving asbestos and a $28 million medical negligence case. Our firm understands cases with big stakes and we aren’t afraid to take them on.
