Biography
Joelson began her legal career in New York City specializing in complex medical malpractice litigation after graduating from New York Law School in 2006. Upon relocating from Manhattan to Baltimore, Marissa was hired by a well-known Baltimore County law firm where she oversaw its busy medical malpractice division and participated in obtaining a multi-million-dollar settlement against a local hospital for medical negligence. It was that highly publicized settlement that led to Peter Angelos’ recruitment of Joelson and current Angelos Law Partner Jay Miller in 2013. For the past 11 years, Joelson has been litigating medical malpractice, birth injury, and wrongful death cases at the Angelos Firm, recovering millions of dollars on behalf of her deserving clients.
Currently, Marissa runs the law firm’s Medical Malpractice Department. She enjoys the ability to pursue her interests in science and medicine along with her passion for the law, the courtroom, and advocating for the injured. Joelson currently co-chairs the Maryland State Bar Association’s Lawyer Assistance Committee, a program that provides support and assistance to members of the legal community struggling with personal and professional challenges.
